Arquitectura Viva's 2016 Spain Yearbook is a visual throwback of the last 12 months in Spanish architecture, revisiting 24 top-notch buildings that were all completed in the country over the last year. Recently released by Arquitectura Viva — who previously published monographs on Rem Koolhaas, Norman Foster, and BIG — the book “confirms the good health of Spanish architecture” in spite of the country's ongoing construction sector crisis, AV describes.
Thanks to Arquitectura Viva, Archinect is giving away two copies of the 2016 Spain Yearbook to our lucky readers! Keep reading for more about the monograph, and how to enter the giveaway.
Projects designed by both established and emerging firms made the cut in this year's edition, including: Nieto & Sobejano, Josep Lluís Mateo, Francisco Mangado, Rafael Mone, Víctor López Cotelo, and Carlos Ferrater. Readers can learn more about the works of young practices who are based throughout the country, like BaKpak of Sevilla, the Cáceres office Losada García, Calderón-Folch-Sarsanedas from Barcelona, and Madrid studio CómoCrearHistorias.
Readers will also find pages dedicated to standout projects such as Tuñón & Mansilla's Royal Collections Museum, the new Herzog & de Meuron-designed BBVA headquarters, and Amid_cero9's Giner de los Ríos Foundation. Last but not least, the Yearbook looks back on the 12 most notable international buildings of 2015, and wraps up with updated news-of-the-year sections.
HOW TO ENTER THE GIVEAWAY:
In the comment section below, tell us your favorite project in Spain (the project can be built or unbuilt, and it need not be designed by a Spanish architect). Only your first comment will count towards the giveaway.
Giveaway ends June 13, end of day. Two winners will be randomly selected. Good luck!
