Across the street, the Victoria House will show off a mix of high-end pop-up stores and emerging enterprises to create a memorable retail experience. More than 50 shops will span 2,000 square meters of space, designjunction's largest retail offering to date. Expect to browse and maybe discover a new favorite brand through an eclectic array of homeware, jewelry and watches, quirky stationery, prints and artwork, woven textiles, and tech accessories.
Attendees that want a glimpse of the newest of the new won't want to miss out on the numerous product launches at the Victoria House. These include personalized eyewear frames by Banton Frameworks that visitors can create and take home the same day. Tech-accessories brand Native Union will launch the world’s first marble iPhone case CLIC and their new Apple Watch docking system, DOCK. Best known for their playful everyday products, husband-and-wife team Tom Pigeon will debut their first home collection.
For a break from all that shopping, a life-sized Underground Station installation by Camilla Barnard will pop up next to the TfL cafe and a Leading Seminar Programme will also take place. The seminar's "Design for a Reason" theme will discuss how issues like sustainability and digital developments affect the design process in the present day. Attendees also have a chance to take complimentary design masterclasses from The Design Clinic.
Last but not least, watch out for a herd of customized Eames Elephants at A Child's Dream, an installation organized by Anthony Dickens and Studio Make Believe that features 21 elephants personalized by top-notch architects and designers. They include: Kenneth Grange, Gensler, Aukett Swanke, Michael Marriot, Terence Woodgate, Lee Broom, Zandra Rhodes, and Eley Kishimoto. All 21 Elephants will be put to a live online auction to raise funds and awareness for the Teddy’s Wish charity.
