Actually this article is FULL of blatant BS.
Charge #1? NOT GUILTY?
What type of business selects real estate DIRECTLY ACROSS THE STREET from competitors? Starbucks can do this the same way that Microsoft can slash the prices on the XBox continually. The new store will take a big lost, as will the competing store across the street. The Ma and Pa store will go belly up in 6months, a year, two years, it doesn't matter because starfucks has enough stores elsewhere to cover the loss. eventually they win out and make a killing the day the ma and pa store closes.
Need Proof?
They've been trying to do it to Gaylords on Piedmont ave in Oakland for years. Everytime I'm in Oakland I PRAY that it will still be there.
Sounds to me like the WIllamette Week Online 'Sold Out' by their own quote this time.
