We keep hearing, in the US, how Africa is becoming saturated with mobile devices and therefore 1. they are a new market and 2. mobile devices can be used for good development. A cool example of the latter from last month's Discover magazine: rural patients tend to not follow through with a full course of TB drugs, but a certain TB drug, when present in the urine, turns a test strip to a color. By putting a code on the test strip that only appears when peed on, the user can then redeem the code for more mobile minutes. This is a way to manage health care follow up in minimally populated areas - which this map seems to show is a lot of Africa.

i think the lesson to learn here is that india need more internets

you can right click and 'view image' too. that often makes pictures bigger, and opens the source of the picture so you can see where it came from as well as the image name
