Hey, is that an Architecture Sucks t-shirt I see on Michele? Awesome!
OMG, it is! I didn't even notice that until you'all sized up the picture ha!
(Their cat is named Mieso.)
Also, please notice what it is hat makes their living room the coolest of all those shown: cork flooring.
no way, it's the yellow wall! mies would sh*t himself!
holz, it's the cork! Look how monolithic it looks, just like the walls. Look at all the other floors - carpet, parquet: they all look so fuzzy compared to the wall texture. Cork is THE most Modern flooring material (outside of large slabs of stone, maybe).
But yes, the yellow would make Mies gasp and fall over.
i was hoping to see our friend and erstwhile Archinecter jafidler, who at least used to live in Lafayette Park. still, i really enjoyed the audio clips. funny that the architecture sucks t-shirt isn't on the architect...
the people would not know how to appreciate mies even on their best day. their apartments are insults to the master.
pretty sure parquet was the original flooring at lafayette...could be wrong though...
I think you're right, simples - but I also think the cork is an improvement!
amazing what wall color and furniture will do to a space.
nice photos. lafayette is a beautiful spot in downtown detroit.....i enjoy every visit to and through the neighborhood.
