The Gehry, Hadid, Nouvel, Foster (,Pitt?) Grand Ave (LA) redevelopment team eliminated from competition leaving David Childs with Thom Mayne and "the second finalist, Forest City Enterprises, is a Cleveland-based firm that has primarily developed shopping centers in California."

Inching towards making the Grove in Downtown LA???
man, this is insanely satisfying. I never really cared about the "brad" factor, but after sitting through their symposium, listening to cobb drone on and on, with interjections from gehry about wanting to have an "open discussion" with the public, but then never divulging a thing about their intentions or trying at all to see where the audience's interests were, I am glad to see their plan backfired. good luck to mayne, and hopefully something will happen on grand.
On the other hand, The Grove is immensely popular, whereas Grand Ave is generally pretty empty. Maybe the Groveing of Grand wouldn't be a bad thing.
