The location for two new museums- the House of Architecture and the Botanical Garden- is situated at the heart of the linear course of the Morača River and the central green axis of the city, adjacent to the main Millennium Bridge, it stands as one of the city's primary landmarks. The urban layout of the central city zone in this area exhibits a distinct backbone, with regular blocks positioned perpendicular to the river's flow.
The site plan is situated on the former Morača military barracks and enjoys direct access to the main street (Vaka Đurovića) and boulevard (Ivana Crnojevića), as well as the Morača riverbed on the western side of the plot. Hence, it holds significant importance in terms of revitalization, facilitating the establishment of new spatial elements, and the creation of a zone poised to become the vibrant cultural hub of the city.
Podgorica's urban landscape can be perceived as a dichotomy of two city concepts - a BREAK or an INTERLACING - contingent upon one's viewpoint. These dual notions coexist, juxtaposed against each other, akin to the contrasting facets of a city. Within this framework, the location serves as a meeting point where these divergent ideas intertwine, yet also holds the promise of their potential synthesis.
