The Beltline located at the Detroit's
east site. It used to be the industrial
site which is a highly diverse territory
along the railline. The beltline's unique
qualities and advantageous location
makes this corridor the next prime
development zone for the city of Detroit,
connecting the Riverfront development
and Riverwalk to the newly declared Mt.
Elliott Employment District for global
trade and Industry.
This project wants to define the
character of Beltline during the
development of Detroit which aimed
at planning a innovative urban design
strategy of Detroit. This requires a more
considerate definition of the role of
Beltline.This includes aspects of publicity
and privacy, integration of sustainable
systems, food production, mixed-use
development, landscape design, industry
in the renewable energy sector, public
transportation as well as recreational and
community based development.
