The project center its idea in the concept of open- close conditions of the facade store, creating mistery and intrigue.
Based on a Haute Couture technique developed by Viktor & Rolf designers, the facade is assembled by a pattern repetition, scaled and rotated based on a focus point.
The store had diverse attributes to bring together in one building. It had to represent the ideals of the brand showing avant-garde concepts, novelty materials and shapes. At the same time it had to function as a fashion store with complementary functions as museum, workshop, runway and offices.
The facade form attracts pedestrians interest by its dual reading, privacy and mistery during day, brightness and opening during night.
The pattern gives motion and elegance to the facade, qualities related to fashion.
The focus point of the building is located near to the corner. The result of this specific location makes the corner more permeable than the rest of the building where it gets more denser and closed for technical spaces.
There is a sense of cohesion and coherence in the entire project and at the same time the gaps between the different spaces avoids monotony and adds elegance to the final result.
Based on the distance between the focus point and the facade, the pattern becomes more open or close depending on how much light or darkness each of the spaces of the store requires for its better functioning.
