The project develops the idea of designing a building with a misreading relation to an industrial object, in order to provoke a confusing effect in the spectator, attracting its attention and interest.
Seaming details, screws or rivets recall industrial references to the original object. It also provides scale to the building that can be used to confuse or to clarify the human proportions.
In this theoretical project, the concept of human scale, function or context are subordinated to reinforce a monolithic introverted objectified result.
With a small program that included small operations and techical offices, the building only had to give a response to putting in and taking out the polluted air from the Holland Tunnel in NY.
Aligned with the post-human philosophy, the project had to be thought from a perspective, where the human was not the reference, nor the recipient defining the quality of the spaces inside the building-object.
