Surrounded by alfalfa fields at the foot of the Soldier Mountains in Central Idaho, this second home was designed with a detached guesthouse and connecting breezeway to accommodate periodic visits from friends during the summer months. Clad in corrugated steel, the buildings minimal form and offset gable roofs reflect the owners desire for a contemporary home influenced by the design vocabulary of barns, rural industrial buildings, and farmhouses. The main residence is organized around an open, multiuse space for dining and entertaining.
