Wild Island is a large scale, long term (15-25 year) concentric urban revitalization plan stemming from Goose Island, Chicago, IL. In order to accomplish an overall goal of biodiversity within the city, we first analyzed and mapped current patterns of industrial, and transportation based, contamination throughout the city. With data provided by the Illinois EPA, Goose Island became a "hot spot" for environmental restoration, ecological balance, and urban renewal.
