Following research on 20th century urban housing developments, schematic design goals became a position on issues of Socio-Economic (spatial) inequalities within Manhattan, and the integration of sustainable construction methods to contemporary buildings and their structural frames.

our response involves a synthesis between sustainable construction practices, and the spatial de-polarization of housing within New York City.
"SoHo 21 attempts to address recent government incentives encouraging the integration of affordable housing (aproximately 20% floor area) with mid and high income residential developments, as well as, issues regarding immense carbon emissions from the production of both steel and concrete."
"Embodying a cradle-to-cradle mentality, SoHo 21 attempts to create a synthesis between these two issues, hopefully pushing the envelope on the design of unbiased inclusive housing and the adaption of the American city as it transitions into the 21st century."
