The BIM Manager is the main point of contact for project design teams on design software related issues, acting as a mentor to our design members on best practices of moving through the lifecycle of a project. In this position, the BIM Manager will be responsible for managing BIM Coordinators and Model Managers within the BIM process for multiple projects, facilitating production and model development for all phases of projects, implementation of advanced technologies and prototyping, providing support to BIM initiatives, and ensuring that timely and relevant training is executed. 

Essential Responsibilities Include 

  • Managing and facilitating BIM design coordination across disciplines; advancing BIM proficiency and leading strategies to coordinate BIM to serve client needs.
  • Supporting project teams in the development of 3D models through design and construction document production
  • Coordinating with project team members to assist in the management of model production
  • Maintaining high level of competency of software through continued use and training
  • Training and oversight of Design Staff and Engineers to ensure models are constructed to correct Level of Design (LOD) and without errors.
  • Reviewing and verifying that 3D models meet quality expectations
  • Assisting in development of project BIM Execution Plans
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of technologies and processes relative to BIM
  • Developing, implementing, and enforcing BIM standards
  • Attending project meetings to foster coordination between lead designers from all disciplines and project management.
  • Under guidance from the Design Technology Manager, ensure that design technology strategies align with business interests, firm goals and culture.

Background Requirements Include:

  • Familiarity with engineering documentation practices for Architectural, Structural, Civil, and MEP disciplines.
  • Instructional/teaching experience in CAD/BIM and Newforma workflows
  • Ability to balance various tasks, responsibilities, and commitments efficiently on multiple projects concurrently. Proficiency in Autodesk products, Microsoft Office, and Newforma
  • Passion to teach and mentor others
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to work with minimal oversight
  • Experience managing staff

Minimum Bachelor's degree in a related area or related work experience. 

Years of relevant work experience: 
5 years of professional industry experience. 

Preferred Skill: 
Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, IT practices, and procedures preferably within the AEC industry. SharePoint exposure a plus.
