JAM is seeking a Project Architect with at least 4 years of post-graduate work experience in high-end residential architecture in New York City.

We are a multidisciplinary firm based in DUMBO, Brooklyn with current work throughout New York City, the Hamptons and the Hudson Valley. Our focus is on residential renovations and restorations where we strive to keep the best of what’s old and thoughtfully introduce the new. We are looking for a Project Architect who shares our passion for residential work and is looking for long-term career growth.

We have several new projects that need a motivated and self-starting architect to work directly with the firm Principals on all phases of design and construction. 

Responsibilities would include:

  • Attend client meetings
  • Field measure
  • Draft in all phases of design
  • Source and edit materials
  • Work with and coordinate engineers and consultants
  • Manage the bidding process
  • Facilitate permitting and approvals
  • Lead construction administration
  • Manage junior staff as needed
  • Foster strong relationships throughout the project life cycle

  • Revels in the details but knows when to use broad brush strokes
  • Knows their way around Spotify & Pandora – the office music is always on!


  • Professional degree in architecture from an accredited institution
  • A minimum of 4 years of post-graduate work experience in high-end residential architecture in New York City
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite and SketchUp
  • Experience creating and assembling comprehensive drawing sets for NYC DOB and LPC approvals, pricing and construction
  • Legally authorized to work in the US and fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Currently living in/near New York City
