Steering House Design and Development is a Brooklyn based, high-end residential design, development and construction company looking to fill an Architect/Project Manager position immediately.

We are an active, boutique company looking for an experienced, well-rounded, enthusiastic, energetic, self-motivated, detail oriented Architect/PM to design and oversee our construction projects throughout brownstone Brooklyn. Qualified candidates will be comfortable in a fast-paced, high pressure work environment overseeing roughly 30,000 square feet of new and existing construction spread over a few job sites at any given time.

Responsibilities include:

Architecture and Design:

  • Draft and detail construction plans for residential gut renovations and new construction 
  • Manage all design professionals

Project Management:

  • Define and manage project goals, budgets and schedules and ensure deadlines are being met
  • Produce RFP’s, negotiate contracts to our advantage, manage vendors and contracts with sub-contractors
  • Manage timely purchase, delivery and tracking of required finishes and fixtures
  • Quality control - we expect nothing but the highest standards
  • Schedule department of buildings and progress inspections as required

Administrative:

  • Contract and insurance administration with sub-contractors 
  • Ensure all required permits are in place
  • Participate in the budget creation and value engineering processes
  • Participate in the budget management, reporting and reconciliation processes to ensure budgetary goals are being met
  • Assist with client billing and change orders

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years experience managing NYC residential architecture or construction projects
  • Positive and professional attitude
  • Revit and CAD expert 

Salary and Benefits:

  • $130,000-$150,000 annually, commensurate with experience
