SGVA is looking for a studio manager/intern architect to join its practice in Brooklyn NY. The firm seeks to hire a full-time studio manager/intern architect responsible for managing office operations, bookkeeping, assisting the Principals with business development to support our growing architectural practice, and providing the team with architectural design support. The ideal candidate will be energetic and organized with 3-5 years of administrative and bookkeeping experience, who enjoys working in a creative environment on a range of tasks, or an intern architect with an interest in business development and marketing. Good graphic design skills, and familiarity with Adobe InDesign and CAD software strongly preferred, but not required.

Duties include:

—     Business Development, assisting principals in preparing proposals, including development of graphics, renderings and images, updating the office website and social media sites, etc

—     Office Management, including reception, office support, management of supplies

—     Administrative support, including management of IT, project-based tasks, sub-consultants

—     Bookkeeping support: provide support to consulting bookkeeper between bimonthly visits, including tracking profitability, paying bills and preparing invoices

—     Human Resources assistance, including onboarding, payroll, employee benefits

—     Project support, including supporting staff architects with help doing research, preparing presentations, and occasional drafting

Hours are 9:00am – 6:00pm.

A well-suited candidate will be a skillful communicator, punctual, organized, work well individually and with a team and have the ability to manage multiple projects with both long- and short-term deadlines. The office manager should be cordial, discreet, articulate and professional. Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Suites; familiarity with Quickbooks, AutoCAD, and Wordpress is helpful but not required.
