GRADING PLAN & PLANTING PLAN
Professional
Our team was hired to design a storm-water catchment system that efficiently captured all water falling on-site. No runoff was allowed to go off site, but simultaneously the client demanded the design to also serve an aesthetic function as well. With these expectations I then began to develop a “boardwalk” concept in which a series of rain gardens and swales directed the water to holding zones with overall a very large holding capacity. The planting plan includes a series of species often utilized for bioswales in the Northeast. Additionally, several evergreen species were sourced to add to the aesthetic consideration all year round and not just seasonally.
