Model Object

The Model Object fabrication Series investigates three different fabrication techniques in order to produce three different physical manifestations of a digitally designed object. While the base object is always the same, its physical manifestations take on unique characteristics informed by the capabilities and limitations of the tools used to create them. The three different fabrications methods explored through this project are CNC laser cutting, 3D printing, and CNC milling. The artefacts of these material processes are leveraged strategically in order to amplify or compliment certain formal characteristics of the base project.
