MAGENTA PLAINS

Magenta Plains is an art gallery on the Lower East Side occupying a through block retail space with a main entrance on Allen Street and a special projects exhibition space on Orchard Street.

The design included a new custom fabricated steel and mesh staircase. The existing exposed masonry was lime-washed for a translucent white finish. The wood joists of the floor were exposed in the cellar and lighting was integrated between the joists.
