I am interested in living and working in NYC, but I only have intermediate english skills. I would like to learn more by working there. Does anyone know of some firms that are open to foreign applicants?
xil,
With so many unemployed architects and recent architecture graduates, many firms don't even consider hiring foreign workers. Firms are trying to cut down costs everywhere they can and paying for visas is definitely one of them. I forget the numbers, but they have dropped significantly in the past one/two years. Not saying that is impossible, but chances are very limited.
And don't you dare come here and work for free, because you will have many angry architects on here that will track you down and key your car and brick of your apartment windows.
