Can anyone explain what is the certificate of firm incorporation for an architectural practice, how to register a practice and how to get that certificate. Or if anyone knows the resources for understanding the whole process in New York State or generally in the US.

There are different types of incorporation that (among other things) have different implications regarding liability and taxes, so talking to an accountant might be helpful as well.

Look up the department of professional regulation of the state you want to get incorporated in and read the statues.
Most have become so user friendly there are online PDF's to fill out. Just make sure you have your EFIN number first.
