what is the different between architectural designer and architect??

what is the different between architectural designer and architect??

my friend told me that architectural designer is more like a sales man. (with good looking, good eloquence....etc.)

In PA, you are just a 'Designer', if you are not Licensed.

pretty much everywhere you are whatever names people dream up, other than Architect,  if you are not licensed..

That's common practice but not alwyas legal:

In California you can't use "architectural designer" if you're not licensed.

term Architectural designer is suggesting that you are practicing architecture, and if not licensed, therefore not legal. Most people that are not licensed do call themselves architectural designers because they don't want to say architect if they are not licensed!

Well, if it goes 10 years without leaking and doesn't need a major renovation... I'd call that person a genius, licensed or not.
