The art of architecture

IADR

I was wandering if any of you guys could refer me to a building which combines art and design in a very specific way.

e.g. the Dirty House in London by David Adjaye, is a good example of a piece of architecture which conveys many social messeges within it. i.e. the divide between rich and poor in a
"rich" context.

Can anyone name me any other buildings which portray such messeges, or even architects who do not believe in the divide between art and design.

Thank you

I've been wandering, too.

Architects: Diller + Scofidio.

They're all about the blur between art and architecture !!

There's plenty of examples:
The early Gerhy project are full of references to american minimal art (ie donald judd etc...)
Jean Nouvel project always integrate rip off of artists: the now being built theater in Minneapolis as vertical LED screens that are exactly like Jeny Holzer's, his project for the LACMA in LA had a rooftop composed like a Claes Holdenburg sculpture,...
I can't think of others right now but you should be able to find more about that easily. You should also check the merzbau project from Kurt Schwitters (I think). If I have others that pop up, I'll tell you.
