i can see why autodesk is giving out maya to students. the only reason i was using maya over rhino was because of the superior scripting engine... and a 350 price tag on software that i can't use commercially after i graduate vs. 100 bucks for a package with no limitations after i graduate (rhino) is kind of a no-brainer.
