P.C. dBA

eigenvectors

can a professional corporation (P.C.) or professional limited liablity corporation (P.L.L.C) do business as "dBA" under another name?

for example: "Architects P.C." wants to do business as "Super Architects P.C."

is this a state by state condition?

i'd say it's state by state, but i think in MN an LLP - which is what you are referencing - you can do a DBA.

...but again here, an LLP is required, i do believe next to your name.

thanks beta, maybe i'll have the lawyers look into this one.
in my mind a professional corporation is probably not as flexible as a regular corporation...

i found out today that if you plan on doing business in multiple states it might be better to do an S-Corp. LLC's are different in each state, and S-Corps are pretty universal.

I have to ask my business guy, but I'm not sure the current partnership structure works for an S-Corp, but that is something to look into.

thanks again.
