Wondering if anyone is working for NCARB verifying IDP forms?

What makes submission go so slowly? Do you just spend hours making phonecalls to employers and etc?

i'm not, but with the new 6 month rule, i am sure it'll get worse. you do need to call them, and be a "face" in their office. you also need to check any 'tude at the door. you also need to talk to the right person[s].

After my first submission, someone at NCARB allowed to send things directly via E-mail as long as it was sent by the supervisor. That sped things up really fast.

I thought things were going much faster with the EVR system. My hours I submitted were approved the next day.

This is a little off base, but I remember talking to someone at my state licensing board once that used to work for NCARB. She told me that the typical file for someone seeking their initial license is over 200 pages.

When you figure applications forms, university transcripts, and IDP hours sheets you max out at about 25 pages. What are the other 175???

I've actually been to the NCARB office twice; on the second trip, I found myself at the back door/outgoing mailroom and was kindly escorted through the entire office to the main receptionist's desk.

Everything was neat and orderly, no huge stacks/rooms of files, etc. Everyone was courteous to me, and my paperwork was processed without a hitch...

I used the e-EVR system they've been pushing recently, I submitted all 720 credits in about 15 minutes and had my boss verify (via email) the next morning. The juries still out on how long it will take to process my transcript but the new system seems to work quite a bit smoother than the old, print off your job logs version.

I recently completed a retroactive documentation of my IDP Training Units from 1998-2008, partially using the e-EVR system and partially using the older Form 123's.

From the receipt of my school transcript until the 'final evaluation' of my record was only a period of 7 weeks (NCARB's 'final evaluation' process only took two of those weeks).

I was in very close contact with NCARB's customer service during this time. They were still ironing out their e-EVR system and things were a little buggy, especially when trying to integrate a Form 123 into the process.

My advice is to call NCARB a lot to ask questions, even if you know the answers. A good rapport is key. Like b3tadine said, be nice to them and let them know that you're there.

You may even get an offer for 'special' help.
