I think that this article really touches on a lot of very relevant concepts and concerns regarding Integrated Project Delivery.

I think his second concern isn't too much of an issue because IDP already is able to accommodate the "just in time" changes he's discussing and the up front decision making early on is unavoidable with building information modeling. However, it's less about the decisions the client needs to make at that point and more about collaboration in design decisions between consultants- including contractors.

IDP is really all about eliciting communication between the project team members early on and throughout the entire project. Ideally, it will generate a more positive model for both designing and building while addressing currently inefficient methods of productivity.
