In a few weeks our studio will be traveling to Japan as a primer for tall-building culture as well as to pick a site for our second semester project. In preparation, our programming class is in the process of organizing a notebook of key tall-building issues. With a fundamental understanding of tall-buildings, one realizes the critical nature of structure (as well as systems, of course) in any tall-building project. And with a little research under my belt I've familiarized myself with a couple of the newer ways to structure a tall-building--diagrid and carbon fiber systems (more notably Peter Testa's work). Are there other critical works with which I should familiarize myself?--in addition to MOMA's recent exhibition and subsequent publication "Tall Buildings".

I'd ask DC at NY's SOM office if he could spare a square.
