I think with linkedin you have to give your real name and all, so it should all be nice-nice, but it might be an OK way to get together on a more serious level, where we can help each other out formally

Obviously, not everyone has to sign up, but it may be helpful.

I would volunteer to start the group on linkedin, but will totally defer to archinect powers that be...
