Wow, this is freaking amazing. And my undergrad kicks a whole bunch of a**. I will make sure to cite them when I go to take my exams!

If anything all this shows is that what school you attend makes little difference in your chances of passing the ARE. For all places with similar numbers of tests taken the rates are very close.

hey, well my ugrad ranks a solid 30th in just about every category... ill take it...

oh i totally mis read that chart... wow... my school sucks...

unless i'm missing something, there are no rankings on here. just the number of people from that particular school taking the exam and the pass rate for those people.

the only relationship that i see is the larger the number of people taking the exam, the lower the average score.

Just for shits and giggles, I imported the data into an Excel spreadsheet and then calculated the average pass rate for each school across all nine sections of the exam.

Here's the top ten:

Make of it what you will... If anything, I think these numbers say less about the quality of instruction at a given school and more about the quality of the applicant pool a given school draws from, although those two factors are no doubt related.

I made it through 100% but I know of a couple of classmates from IIT who still haven't passed all of them. And we all graduated 10 years ago or more.

There are some schools that seem quite strong like Carnegie Mellon and Rensselaer. I have been impressed by the people I have met from these schools. UIC's standing doesn't surprise me. UIUC rates better and I think is the stronger school although I cannot see doing a 2 + 2.

The best part of the whole thing is that at the NCARB website the headers do not line up with the content.

No surprise.
