Hi Archinecters!
I am an interior designer working for an architecture firm in Beijing. One of our clients, China Post, is asking us to find a company or association who can carry out interior post-construction inspections. There isn't such an accredited organization or standard created in China.
Is there such an association or organization in the US similar to ISO9000, 14000 or maybe in the form of an assciation like AIA, or US green building Council who has the credibility to evaluation and inspect the interior environment after contruction is completed?
The range of measurement that we would like them to perform include: interior air quality, interior lighting quality, interior material quality. The clients want someone with the right credential to produce a report on the quality of the construction and design.
The inspectors in China only takes care the construction part. and mainly focusing on weather the construction has followed codes, instead of the quality of the different phases of design and construction.
