the result of goggling popular names somehow compares the coverage of their projects and themselves in the global media world ...

3,430,000 Frank Lloyd Wright
2,970,000 Richard Meier
2,400,000 Le Corbusier
2,010,000 Frank Gehry
1,380,000 Oscar Niemeyer
1,070,000 Norman Foster
1,020,000 Richard Rogers
938,000 Jean Nouvel
801,000 Santiago Calatrava
785,000 Renzo Piano
705,000 Rem Koolhaas
667,000 Zaha Hadid
662,000 Tadao Ando (1,330,000 for 安藤忠雄, his name in jap.)
644,000 Toyo Ito (394,000 for 伊東豊雄, his name in jap.)
607,000 Morphosis (657,000 for thom mayne)
525,000 Louis Kahn
485,000 I M Pei (648,000 for 貝聿銘, his name in Chinese)
394,000 Herzog de meuron
388,000 Steven Holl
384,000 Walter Groupius
369,000 Daniel Libeskind
305,000 Frei Otto
250,000 Peter Zumpthor
238,000 MVRDV
235,000 Alvaro Siza
222,000 Jørn Utzon
158,000 Shigeru Ban (259,000 for 坂茂, his name in jap.)
147,000 Kazuyo Sejima (55,600 for 妹島和世, her name in jap.)
139,000 David Chipperfield
131,000 Diller Scofidio
115,000 Cesar Pelli

the result appears to be "more american" and not a truly global representation as i did the search in goggle.com
this's just for fun and the result can never mean to be accurate

why is the spelling so bad in thread titles? can't anybody get one of these right or at least take the effort to double-check before submitting? how strange!

it's so wrong that Meier has more entries than Le Corbusier...

Jul 1, 08 4:25 pm  ·

yea, but Meier is a one-trick pony (although he does that one trick pretty well) Corbu invented more and was multi-faceted...but you're right, M. is more recent and still alive. If it's students or researchers making most of those searches then they should be going to the source.

i think the bias is just because the internet represents americans more than any other nationality.

(this is completely stupid but I'll add some more..)

580,000,000 for metal
361,000,000 for wood
267,000,000 for plastic
110,000,000 for concrete
89,200,000 for brick

so metal wins (including Mercyful Fate I guess..)

2,830,000 for "modern architecture"
44,600 for "postmodern architecture"

so "Towards an Architecture" wins over "Complexity and Contradiction"

and 29,500,000 for sustainability
