yeah, that's one of the reasons i asked if she/he is in the u.s. (the other being that the process of becoming an architect differs between countries).
i would highly re-recommend what bloopox said in the other thread:
compile a list of questions, look up a local architect, and set up an interview. this would make for a much better paper as you'd be getting first hand information. (plus, i think your instructor would appreciate that approach more)
there was another high school student that posted a similar question here not too long ago.
Oh, and go to your local AIA office after school. Talk to them. Matter of fact, I spoke with the houston AIA head once. She was nice, and liked meeting HS students. So call her. Try the yellow pages for the number.
Thats all I'm going to do of your homework. You can't be an Architect unless you know how to do your own precedent studies.
An act or instance that may be used as an example in dealing with subsequent similar instances.
One that precedes another.
seems like precedents are more things that are done before that can be copied and done again
antecedent seem more genetic, not a thing repeated but that came before.
def. go to AIA that is a mission of theirs to help people become architects
what do i need to become an architect
im a high school student writing a paper on architecture and i would like to know what i need to do to become an architect.
First of all you need a valid driver's licence or another form ofan approved identification. I am not kidding.
step 1: obtain naab accredited degree (b.arch or m.arch).
step 2: work at an office and enroll in idp
step 3: after 3 years of work/idp experience take exams.
step 4: if you've passed exams, congratulations, you're an architect. (buy lots of black clothing) if you haven't passed exams, repeat step 3.
am i missing anything?
what are the pros and non pros?

an ability to answer questions without someone holding your hand is helpful.
