I am going to be in Sydney for two days in January. I am looking for suggestions as to what to see and where to go. Also any web links to hip and happenin' Sydney. Thanks.
Dear madcarrot...gday:)
2 days aint much but here goes...
Take a A$150 walk over the harbour bridge...best at dawn or dusk.
Catch a ferry to Manly for A$6.00 see the harbour for free and
get some fish and chips on the beach.
Give Bondi a miss...or if you do have to go...find the secret icebergs pub on the sea...
Sth Side of the Beach above the pool...
Take a walk in the Botanical Gardens on the Harbour and find yourself at the
@ The Gallery Of NSW...
Take a snorkel and flippers and find Gordons Bay and go for a dip and
see if you can see the giant blue Gropers, Garfish and funny cutlefish for free.
Have a beer at the Cargo Bar on the city side of Darling Harbour at dusk.
Hire a car and drive up to Palm Beach...or even better catch the sea plane
from Rose bay A$150.00 abouts and go for lunch there...beautiful.
Or have a look at the Sandstone work at the QVB in George St (CBD)...
Bring a hat, sunnies 3o+ sunscreen.
Also the Sydney Festival will be on then too...so http://www.sydneyfestival.com.au/corporate/default.asp

walk around Sydeny you should have an eyefull - start from the Opera House work your way up. Eat sushi and drink good italian coffee if you get tired. A few sex shops with distinct characters along the way for a good larf too. If you feeling really ambitious - on the second day take a bus trip to Canberra
