The Good New York Firms That No One Has Heard Of Outside New York

So what are they, they must also be hiring, and not for indentured servitude.

I just went to New York for an interview. The employees I spoke with when I was there said NY firms pay above the national average however they said, "things are getting tight." As I walked around I saw firm names on the directories of a lot of buildings so one wouldn't have far to go to get a competing offer. When the billings index drops then firms have a tighter budget. For New York the last I time I checked the AIA billings index it was still in the black for the North East. Check the salary polls here and you will find they pay well for your experience. If you are a n00b and you can't draw then you can't expect to bring much in terms of value wherever you are.

Nobody is hiring. Not even in New York. Tough year to be looking for a job.
