association of licenced architects ????

treekiller

I was just handed a magazine published by the ALA. Never heard of them before and their website looks like it was designed by mike brady or the toll brothers.

So why would anybody join this organization versus the AIA?

membership only costs $85 a year for RAs and $55 for interns, but their magazine looks worse then most state chapters of the AIA's.

What are the benefits?

their 'national' board has one member from Wisconsin and the rest are from the land of lincoln. with their job listings seem focused on Illinois where the organization is based. any history of how they started? are they a renegade splinter group from the IL AIA?

I was laughing all through the site until I realized I actualy have a few of those magazines at home - its not bad publication at all -

I still have no idea who this group is outside of the magazine
