I pray Barack survives the next round of primaries, but considering recent events my prophecy that he is un-electable due to his race may come true.

I mean come the fuck on, how may presidents, wanna-be-presidents, et al, have hob-nobbed with crazy white pastors? Falwell and Pat Buchanan are just as bad as Wright coming from the opposing direction. That, my friends is the "Black Tax" in action.

any chance that obama barack will run in the general election as an independent if hilary clinton gets the nomination? a three-headed race to the finish line could be fun

He'll be toast, best thing to do for him if he loses the nomination is keep his head down till 2012, get some more street cred in DC, and have the Wright thing fade into collective memory.

That man will be president someday I know it, but it will be a long time from now when Gen X and Y form the bulk of the electorate.

barack needs to head on over to the 700 club and talk to pat robertson about how those sinners down in new orleans deserved that hurricane.

He'd have the nomination locked up in a heartbeat.

I cant believe the Clinton's media machine has indeed put fear, self doubt and cynism back to the forefront of your minds.

He is winning. He cant lose, unless the doubt is allowed to fester. what are the supporters from the last states going to do? Play dead? Hell no. Theyre going to come out in bigger waves even IF he loses and make it 60-40, 55-45 etc so he wins the delegate race.

Plus McCain just isnt an appealing choice for president for the right or Left. Hes a great man, but Im afraid not going to be a good president.

you mean y is Hillary so stupid she can't read the numbers and wants to cheat and really hurt her parties chances and thus letting another war criminal to the history of earth?

ps mccain is no great man he is a weak man who is selling is 'so called soul', to the powers of old who want to stay there and he would be perfectly complicit with the ongoing worldwide atrocities as long as there is financial gain.

Why are politicians so f***in stupid?
Why are people so f***in stupid?

You know, it's so easy for us to sit at our computers and blast the political process and the parties through these threads, but let's not forget it ain't no easy thing to get someone elected, and you're bound to make a lot of mistakes.

Imagine if all architectural commissions were awarded through a popular vote and you had to compete with three or four other architects.
There would be a full scale media circus looking into and questioning every little crappy project you've ever done, or whether you ever smoked pot or kicked a dog or lived in a bad design.
The other architects would release slanderous bile about your designs and talent, but would deny doing so.
The pastor of your church would shout from the pulpit that you are such a great architect you remind him of Albert Speer - and you have to explain why he said that.
Almost every single thing you say in defense of your design would be misinterpreted by the media, on the internet, and by the competing architects.
The voting to pick the winning design would be spread out over a year and require you to travel to practically every state in the country, and sometimes debate the other architects directly.

How many projects do you think you would actually get, and would you ever, in your right fucking mind, want to be an architect?

(Shit, I think I just described pretty much what happened in the Ground Zero process...)

If you ask a bunch of Democrats to form a firing squad, they'd stand in a circle.

If you asked a bunch of architects to form a firing squad, they'd have to do draw it first.

If Hillary gets the nod......and wins....then her husband would be a lobbist for foreign countries....or would he be her advisor. I find it also of interest that contributions to Presidential Libaries do not have
to be identified or accounted for. So Bill is building a big war fund while working on the campaign.

I was glad to see Governor Richardson step forward for Obama.

Obama should still win the nomination... the question will be how much he will be damaged from the Wright controversy -- but, then again, he would have had to face this sort of thing sooner or later, and better to get some of it out of the way now (and, cut his teeth a little for the general election). (At least, that's the optimistic view.)

His lead in delegates really is too much to overcome, and from what I've read the superdelegates are still leaning toward him (despite this rough patch).

the thing about the Wright controversy is that if Obama were white and Wright was hating on homosexuals everything would be fine

Wright blamed us bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki for 9/11, but Falwell and Pat Robertson blamed homosexuals, liberals and feminists.. I think I like Wright's moral ambiguity better than theirs if that's any indication...

I think Obama's going to pull through -

1. a politician with no scandal is a little creepy (what's hiding?) I think this crazy pastor thing, combined w. the real estate sleeze, makes him seem real, like we've seen the worst and not only is it not that bad, but he has a really great attitude about both...

2. Hillary is proving herself to be every bit the machine politician that people are trying to get away from.

and,

3. McCain isn't really much of a republican anyway, so I think a lot of the moderate repubs, as well as the hard-core right wing libertarian types, don't see much difference and would rather see a great moderate dem than a so-so moderate republican who might compromise to party.

ps how did we get three fantastic candidates? Remember the last election? what happened?!?
