Hi All,
sorry to bother you like this, but does anyone have any experience with the new Ansi code for NYC dealing with wheelchair lifts? I am dealing with a manufacturere who istelling me that the 1996 code calls for wheelcahir lift to be an enclosed model instead of an open model, and I am not sure if he is just pulling my leg. Thank you.

Is it an interior or exterior lift? As I recall, I think that is correct..It has to be enclosed as in the landing gate folds up, but don't quote me on it... Look here for any info on accessibilty
http://www.access-board.gov/adaag/html/adaag.htm#4.2.4
Also, Graphic Standards has some good info...Hope this helps!

I find the remark about pulling ones leg in relation to wheelchair codes very offensive, but don't quote me on it.

Are wheelchair lifts even allowed in new construction? I heard they weren't.
