sorry to bother you like this, but does anyone have any experience with the new Ansi code for NYC dealing with wheelchair lifts? I am dealing with a manufacturere who istelling me that the 1996 code calls for wheelcahir lift to be an enclosed model instead of an open model, and I am not sure if he is just pulling my leg. Thank you.
Is it an interior or exterior lift? As I recall, I think that is correct..It has to be enclosed as in the landing gate folds up, but don't quote me on it... Look here for any info on accessibilty http://www.access-board.gov/adaag/html/adaag.htm#4.2.4

I find the remark about pulling ones leg in relation to wheelchair codes very offensive, but don't quote me on it.
1996......where have they been it is 2008....
Are wheelchair lifts even allowed in new construction? I heard they weren't.
