Laser cutting marble?

Do you know if it's possible to laser-cut thin sheets of marble or maybe another soft stone? or other veneer versions of similar natural materials ..If laser cutter can't cut it - what about water jet ?
can you get marble etc thinner than 3/8"

Seriously, waterjet cutting is as accurate as a laser, with no potential to burn the material. And it's probably less expensive than lasers.

These guys can cut anything: wood, stone, steel, foam, etc.
