I've read on Archinect that some, "don't suscribe to anything"; is this a personal rule or happen-stance?

For those who do suscribe to magazines, which one do you suscribe to? Is it for

Personal Intrest?

Professional Intrest/Relativity/Benefit?

Overall Good Design Coverage?

"Best" Overall Architecture (/Design) Magazine?

"Best" Overall Architecure (/Design) Magazine for the $$$?

"Best" Overall Architecture (/Design)Magzine for a specific design (Mod, Contemporary, Trend, Traditional, ect)?

Despite what you suscribe to, what is the best and worst suscriptions?

Post on Architecture (/Design) blogs and sites too.

well,it really depends on yourself interest.

my subscribiton would be detial(shows lots of construction detail of contemprary architecture)architectural review(gerneral information),AD(each issue will focus on one topic).however, some small magazines such as by lebbeus woods or steven holl(pamphlet architecture) might be useful as well.

do forget "wallpaper' and especially"A+U","GA document"ect.just because they cost a lot of money and just like newspaper.

Too expensive to subscribe to periodicals. I only get ones that come free with professional/institutional memberships. Otherwise, I use the School of Architecture library!

i've moved too much over the past decade to make a habit of subscribing to magazines (although I rather would since it's less expensive & more convenient)...having said that, I still manage to have subscriptions to radar, harper's and monocle at present...i-m somewhat isolated in my current location, but i like to check out architectural digest & robb report vacation home whenever I get the chance.

at the moment, i'm missing hard copies of surface, wad, and harvard design magazine.

i like magazines.

i second Detail as my favorite archmag. a close second would be Living Architecture, or a few other periodicals that focus on scandinavian design (although i can't read most of them)

I love Frame the most, but it's rather expensive.

Metropolis is the best value for the money.

I like Architectural Record, too.

For research, I like Environment and Behavior and the Journal of Environmental Psychology. The Journal of Interior Design and the Journal of Architectural Education have good research, as well.

I don't subscribe to anything at the moment (too poor), but I used to subscribe to Print and Communication Arts. If I could I would get Metropolis and I.D. too.

I subscribe to:
1. Details
2. Architectural Review
3. Architectural Record - (AIA membership)
4. I.D.

All the other shelter magazines that discount heavily to subscribe.

But am thinking about "The Plan"

Purchase A+U - singularly if it's an interesting issue.

I prefer local perspectives to the national rags -

1: Cite (from Rice Design Alliance - obviously focused on greater Houston and Texas, but probably the most intelligent architecture/urbanism journal in print)

2: Arcade (Cite-Lite for the Seattle area)

3: California Real Estate Journal

4: Architects' Newspaper, California Edition

5: ArcCA (from AIA/CC - suprisingly good)

6: Sunset (at $15/year, why not?)

7: Cabinet (a nice diversion from architecture)

8: Architectural Record (comes with my AIA membership)

9: Harvard Design Magazine (occassionally)
