Hey!

I am new to the forum. I'm a second year B.Arch student and I'm designing an Elementary School for my Design Studio class. I picked "Happiness" as the theme/concept for my design after watching Don Norman's TED speech on ways design can make you happy, where he explains how certain products and other things designed to be "fun" or "happy" have a psychological impact on its users.

I wanted to apply the same concept in my school building design. So what kind of shapes and forms are associated with "Happiness"? How can architectural design effect the user's happiness? Are there any proven studiesof certain heights, spans, shapes, forms, colors, circulations, etc. creating feelings well-being, comfort, excitement, creativity etc.?
