where is "Try Google" when you need him?

1/16" and 1/32" are the most "standard" around my school and office

though i will add don't make the mistake of thinking you can do a topo 1/16" topo model of a site that slopes 50' over 200' and think it will be anywhere near accurate.

And especially DON'T stay up all night to do it for your boss to use in a meeting the next morning

mdler chipboard comes in a variety of sheet sizes and a standard size is 1200 x 2400mm.
Check the following link http://www.timbertraders.com.au/product.php?cmd=detail&catid=9
It details sheet sizes for chipboard (particleboard) and other board.

chipboard=particleboard? where I come from chipboard is akin to museum board or butter board, particleboard is in the plywood family.

and in 7 years of schlepping through every utrecht and pearl paint on the east coast I've yet to see chip sized in metric.

24 x 36 x 1/16 or 1/32

Walk in any art supply store in the US and you are 99% likely to find one of those

Well at our local supply store the chipboard came in sizes of 32x40 with varying thicknesses from 1/30" to 1/4".

So now I will be splicing my model together. Geez.

i think there has been a cultural misunderstanding ;-)
in australia chipboard = particleboard!!
i'm a cabinetmaker by trade and have always referred to particleboard as chipboard.

sorry for any misunderstandings.

mdf comes in 49" x 97" sheets in the USA. it is so cabinetmakers can cut 4 2' wide pieces from each sheet and account for blade kerf
