The house on the hill sparked a rememberance of Sou Fujimoto who has been extensively profiled of late [particularly for his Treatment Center
for Mentally Disturbed Children], but doesnt fit the grainy, full size image criteria.
Anyway, Japanese architects are very nice, as per mr. bojangles comment. So here are some more from my collection:
Searching for a certain Japanese Architect
Some time ago, maybe 2-3 years, i came across a uniquely beautiful website for a Japanese Architect, and now I cannot recall his name.
The website was lo-fi - minimalist & intuitive, quiet layout, featuring very, very grainy & textured photographs of his built work.
The work was beautiful, and I'd like to see some in person if possible.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?
Thanks.
Shigeru Ban?
