looks like foster has great coverage in certain areas but less good in others.
big has better more consistent coverage in more areas.
hertzberger really doesn't have very good coverage at all.

I like the lighting quality in the Foster rendering.

this idea isn't very new. foster has created divisions between his grid, allowing for ventilation, or other services, this is quite a jump on BIG's simple grid extrusion.

of course Big's is the most fun.

Hertzberger's was all about multi-scalar systems, he kicked ass on this one by far

Down with Hertzberger, mostly for designing to encourage customization by the user. I would like to see some interior shots to see how each handled that differently.

aspect

from a commercial point of view

foster - serious over-looking problem.... fail
big - surface area minimized but very deep floor plate at upper floor... fail
Hertzberger - no overlooking, deep floor plate only at lower floors which serves as podium... most sensible scheme.

the Central Beheer is an amazing building, is about 30 years ahead of its time - designed and constructed to be an infinately adjustable footprint, and it was eco before eco even existed...
