The funny thing is that Fairey keeps saying 'phenomenology' when I'm pretty sure he really means 'ontology'. Phenomenology is more about the senses, ontology is where belief and cognition come in. So there.
The obey/giant stuff actually started as a joke while he was at RISD...the imagery was sent to people at other art schools and community colleges in places like austin, portland, sf, etc...and they would get plastered around by people who either wheat pasted prints or screenprinted vinyl stickers...the bullshit to reference phenomenology came about 10 years later.

Would someone care to explian
what the hell this is?
I think the image gallery visual stimuli has become much more active lately.
is she really 4 foot 7?
that is stoopid
why is the world not yet over phenomenology?
because people like you talk like that
what does andre the giant have to do with phenomenology?
steve you are a douche
*from the obeygiant front page.
i've seen their destruction of property (graffiti) around ..
it revitalized my perception and awoke my sense of wonder about my environment
yes, but what about your attention to detail?
that's what provoked frustration; it did not revitalize my attention to detail. curious ..
now I'm curious is she really 4'7? Funny how this starchitect idolisation works...even those that don't like her, have to love bashing her.
the Obey campaign's purpose is to make Shepard Fairey a very wealthy man
Shep gots himself a house in the hills....
yes he does...actually in the foothills, I believe.
I just did a quick research project on Shepard Fairey last week. Here's a link to my sweet presentation poster.

Its great being the only architecture student in an english class. Simple photoshop/illustrator work blows everyone away.

Some of his posters are beautiful, though.
you really are a douche steve, or at least acting like one
Apurimac, what's your problem with me? What did I do to you?
hey apurimac: thanks for clearing that one up
