Stretchy Materials

dillup.

Designing a prototype for an expandable module piece. Want to cover it with a synthetic fabric / rubber type material that can expand and contract along with the material. i.e. something REALLY stretchy.
Any ideas on where to find something like this? Material types, web catalogs, etc.

thanks

Liquid latex? That you paint on yourself and let dry, then stretch?

Hey does anyone know what the glass is called with the gas in it that allows for either transparency and translucency? I know there is switchable privacy glass that works by LCD but dont know the gas one or where to find it?

I pulled some bacon out of a package tonight - for spinach salad - and the stuff stretched to 3x its original length. Maybe you should use fat...

Actually, if stretchiness isn't important, but expandability is, try a ripstop nylon. It crunches down to nearly nothing, then expands nice and tight.

are you looking to have this skin as a weather barrier?

there is a material that comes to mind, but it will certainly not keep the outside out.

you may use it in the shower...
