Freed pretty much got screwed by the CAB. If I remember correctly, he was working on an exempt project in CA (where he was waiting for his CSE results) and some other projects in states where he was licensed. A jilted contractor notified the CAB that on his website he called himself an architect, and since he had an California address, they sanctioned him.
He actually set the record straight on one of the threads here, but the search function isn't bringing it up.
