Climbing plants...roses to be exact. whats the best method of representation? has anyone on here tried this before? id be much appreciative of the help!
You can use both. Photoshop will be the easiest. Look around on sites like www.turbosquid.com for photos to buy. It will all come down to having a quality photo with an alpha mask and a lot of patience/attentiont to detail.
Both. Use transparency maps to make sure that the shadows come out well, but then take it into photoshop to make sure the look of the actual plants are right, since they tend to come out flat in the 3D programs.
Render or Fotoshop and how in either case???

I prefer to try image maps and transparency maps first. You get more realistic shadows and GI.
But Photoshop is a good ol' friend.
