I would like to know more about this. I believe the guy who started payapl has just tested his extendible habitat and is looking to launch it sometime around 2012.

The University of Houston has a Space Architecture program. They have cool stuff. http://www.sicsa.uh.edu/

Not to be prissy but in a full time space habitat there will be no Velcro. It gets caught in the CO2 scrubber.

And the elevator is a long time in coming.

But alas, what a view

i've heard about the Galactic Suite since last year but all I've seen is a series of abstract renderings... not much else and never a plan/section/model...

the guy doing this has done from architecture, to jewellery, to curvy skyscrapers in China, and to this spatial motel: Xavier Claramunt (his own website is quite old and useless though..)
